The most important goals of the Hungarian Tourism Agency (HTA) are the increase of Hungary’s competitiveness as a destination, and the active contribution towards making the country a more attractive and experience-rich destination for foreign tourists, domestic tourists, and business travellers alike.
One of the Agency’s main tasks is to manage the development of tourism, and to do this by defining their strategy in accordance with the Act on State Tasks for the Development of Tourism Areas using a destination-based approach. In addition, the Agency also coordinates tourism marketing at a national level, including tasks related to the development of the Hungarian tourism branding system, as well as domestic and international marketing and communication activities. The HTA’s primary mission is to impart the history of Hungary and, in so doing, to ensure the country’s continuing growth through the development of tourism.
